The Turkish series "Salted Coffee" introduces its viewers to three influential families. Each of these families has its own rules and traditions, established over decades or even centuries. However, these seemingly different people still have something in common: there will soon be a wedding in each family. The main characters are actively preparing for the upcoming celebration, sensing just how important this marriage will be and how drastically it will change their destinies.
Yet, the brides and grooms all handle the situation differently. For some, it will be a long-awaited marriage of love, while for others, it will be something forced or even unexpected. The main character, Gözde Kütaygil, comes from one of the most powerful families in Istanbul. She knows exactly what she wants out of life and knows her own worth. Under no circumstances would she sacrifice herself or her comfort for someone who doesn't deserve it.
At the very beginning of the series, we witness Gözde's encounter with Mehmet, the heir to a massive holding company who has recently returned from the United States. All of his thoughts are consumed by work, but, unexpectedly to everyone, meeting Gözde completely upends his future plans. In addition to joyful and happy wedding ceremonies, viewers will also witness a fierce confrontation between two families — the İpeklis and the Kütaygils. The patriarchs run into each other at one of the weddings after a long lull in their feud, reigniting the war with even greater force.
